This shorter version of the estate visit focuses on the cellar tour and wine tasting.
Nearly a millennium old, the cellar is a testament to the craftsmanship of the monks of Cîteaux. It served as both a winery, where all vinification took place, and a wine cellar, where the estate’s wines still age today. This architectural and historical gem provides the perfect setting for tasting the wines of Domaine and Maison Joliet.
This tour of the cellar is ideal for:
Taking your first steps into our world, surrounded by barrels and Burgundy’s winemaking heritage.
Exploring the latest vintage if you’re already familiar with the estate.
La visite de notre cave se concentre sur la dégustation.
Our cellar tour focuses on the tasting experience. During your visit, you’ll sample wines such as :
the Bourgogne Haute Côte de Beaune
the Pommard Village
and the Fixin 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière Rouge
In addition to tasting our wines, you’ll also admire our press, built in the 12th century. This press is part of a unique family of five presses, with the other four located at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
The jewel of our Premiers Crus Rouges, Fixin Premier Cru Clos de la Perrière Rouge is a skilful blend of our 4 plots. The pride of the domaine, Fixin Premier Cru Clos de la Perrière Monopole Rouge is one of a kind. This wine’s particularity lies in its Climat.
Chosen by the monks of Cîteaux in the 12th century, the plot benefits from the complexity of its soils and exposure. Divided and worked in 4 distinct parts, Clos de la Perrière is then blended to create a single wine, as complex and harmonious as the terroir from which it is extracted.
As with estate tours, autumn is the best season to visit a cellar in Burgundy.
Autumn is the ideal time to explore Burgundy’s vineyards and experience the magic of the region’s winemaking firsthand.
