Monthélie Village White

Elegance and freshness in a bottle: Discover this Monthélie Blanc 2018, an exceptional Chardonnay with delicate white fruit notes and minerality, a true reflection of the Burgundian terroir.

Between finesse and roundness, let yourself be charmed by its vibrant freshness and subtle aromas, promising a delightful tasting experience.

Monthélie Village 2018 White

Perched on the first slopes of the Côte de Beaune, Monthélie (pronounced “Mont’lee”) is nestled between Volnay and Meursault. A historic winegrowing village, its AOC status was officially established in 1937.

The Soil

Facing south and southeast, and rooted in gravelly Bathonian limestone covered with red clay and marl, the Monthélie vineyards extend across the “Coteau de Volnay” as well as into the Auxey-Duresses valley. There, the soils transition to Argovian limestone, with exposures varying between east and west, depending on the slope (ranging from 230 to 370 meters in altitude).

The Tasting

In the glass, this wine displays a brilliant, golden-hued robe. The nose reveals subtle aromas of white-fleshed fruits, such as pear and peach, intertwined with delicate floral notes of wild rose and a distinctive mineral touch.

On the palate, the attack is fresh and lively, evolving into a beautiful roundness. The fruity flavors blend harmoniously with hints of vanilla and brioche, a result of careful oak barrel aging. The long finish is marked by persistent minerality and a subtle citrus note.

While already delightful to enjoy, this vintage has an aging potential of 3 to 5 years, during which it will develop greater aromatic complexity and an even more harmonious texture

Wine & Food Pairing

The Monthélie Blanc 2018 pairs beautifully with grilled or sauced fish dishes, seafood, and roasted poultry. It also elegantly complements soft cheeses and delicate-flavored vegetarian dishes.

To fully appreciate its aromas and freshness, it is best served between 12 and 14°C (54–57°F).
