Domaine Joliet, located in Fixin, in the northern Côte de Nuits, has a rich history of crafting Pinot Noir wines. The Clos de la Perrière vineyard spans 5 hectares, with 4.5 hectares dedicated to Fixin Premier Cru Red (Pinot Noir) and 0.5 hectares to Fixin Premier Cru White (Chardonnay).
From the beginning, Maison Joliet naturally focused on Premier Cru Reds from the Côte de Nuits. Among these, you’ll find the Premier Cru Clos de la Perrière Rouge from Domaine Joliet, as well as Premier Crus selected by Maison Joliet. Our selection process always adheres to our philosophy and history, featuring exceptional and historic terroirs such as:
Les Fuées in Chambolle-Musigny: A Premier Cru adjacent to the prestigious Grand Cru Les Bonnes-Mares.
Les Cazetiers in Gevrey-Chambertin: Known for its intensely mineral terroir that stands out within the appellation.
Burgundy wines are predominantly single-varietal. For Villages (with a few exceptions), Premier Crus, and Grand Crus, Chardonnay is the choice for whites, while Pinot Noir reigns supreme for reds.
Our Premier Cru Red Burgundies are ideal companions for meat dishes, whether white meats (chicken, turkey, pork, rabbit) or red meats (lamb, veal, goat, beef). Pairing these wines with your meals is a foolproof way to enhance the flavors.
For white meats, it’s best to select wines with low tannin levels. These wines are softer and won’t overpower the delicate flavors of white meats. Our Fixin 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière rouge is an excellent choice for such dishes.
Dish idea: Sweet-and-sour rabbit skewers.
For red meats, opt for wines with more character and pronounced tannins. These wines will complement the smoky, robust flavors of red meats.
Dish idea: Grilled beef paired with our Chambolle-Musigny – Premier Cru – Les Fuées
